This article details the changes to weapons added by Total Crackdown.

The initial pass on weapons will be using native game mechanics for the adjustments (see: Stability and Accuracy), and further adjustments (such as Recoil Impulse, Recoil Direction, etc) will be made based on testing and feedback.

Ammo sharing

When a player gathers an Ammo Box, all players will receive a pickup based on how many players are present:

  • Solo: 100% value
  • 2 Players: 50% value (-50%)
  • 3 Players: 34% value (-66%)
  • 4 Players: 25% value (-75%)

This is to bring a greater focus on team-play and make it less possible for a single player to hoover up all of the ammunition.

Mod changes

To make weapons easier to build, balance, and use, most weapon mods are being integrated into the base stats. Generic Suppressors/Silencer attachments are exempt from this, as are mods that cannot be reasonably considered cosmetic (such as Magazines or Conversion kits). Additionally, Scopes and Fire Selector mods still provide their primary function, but do not come with stat adjustments. Any other Weapon-Specific exceptions will be noted after each weapon entry.

Speedpull Magazines

The Speedpull Mag mod has been a major hurdle in the Weapon Rebalance because it is:

  • Nearly universal among Rapid Fire weapons
  • Extremely powerful, especially in comparison to other Magazine mods

Several players have expressed desire for it to be spared from the Cosmetic treatment, but wanted something that wasn't a by-the-numbers nerf to its main function. As a result, the Speedpull Mag is receiving the following changes:

  • Reduces Total Ammo by -50% (as the magazines take up additional space in storage but do not increase the weapon's capacity)
  • Reduces Concealment by a value based on the weapon
  • Some weapons will also have additional stats based on the model used to match proper Magazine capacity

Further adjustments will be made based on testing and feedback.

Skill flattening

Many of the global Accuracy/Stability bonuses from the old Skill Trees are being baked into weapon stats for ease of use. On average, this will add about 20 Accuracy and 30 Stability, but not every weapon will benefit from these adjustments. Some weapon groups (such as Pistols or Akimbo weapons) will have additional Skills baked in, typically along the lines of integrating effects that are generally considered to be necessary for Quality of Life.
